Creative Flurry!
I am in the midst of one of those creative flurries that:
A.) has me doubting my sanity,
2.) has me sleeping less than an hour a night
C.) has me churning out TV spots and documentaries at the speed of summer lightning.
It sounds mad, I know. But. As long as it's good work, who really cares, eh?
I do have to confess that I'm concerned about the safety of my fiery guests, however. Three of the more boisterous ones blamed the ills of the world on Islam. I believe that everyone has the right to his or her own opinion, BUT that doesn't mean that everyone on earth supports this right!
For example, I am a Christian because I choose to be. Yes, I was born into this faith, but I went through a time (in college, actually) where I examined several faiths.
I did NOT leave Christianity at any time, but there were times when I was less than enthused about it.
I then came to realise that I was actually annoyed with the cultural struggles of being an Arab-American, and ended up writing two books about these struggles, which (as it turned out) oodles of other Arab Americans and AmeriCopts were glad to share with me.
Back to the whole "being born into one's faith" bit, I happen to choose to be a Christian. It would make me as happy as a lark if everyone on earth would bow down and worship Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour. (Anyone religious--Muslim, Jewish, Christian, or whatever--who purports to feel that "whatever works for you" is a big fat liar, by the way. The whole POINT of the "Big Three" is TO convert people, though people have gone about this in different ways over the centuries, some approved by the religion, some not.) BUT. I do not look down upon or diss anyone who does not share my beliefs.
If someone is curious or wants to discuss religion, my religion, etc., I will be glad to do so (this isn't a proposition, but a matter of fact).
But again, I'm not going to go around picking apart other faiths (or the lack thereof). Although I'm--eminently--qualified to.
I WILL, however, spend time writing about my faith, and what I believe. If I have a question about a point in another religion or system of beliefs, I will ask it. I will always try my utmost to avoid hurting anyone's feelings. But. If someone wants a direct answer, I'm not going to be a wuss and shy away from giving it.
I recognise that there are so many people out there who may choose to actually dislike me for my beliefs, but there you are. Actually, I know for a fact that many liberals and other "tolerant people" dislike being with Christians and "straightedgers." Why? It must be because their conscience is trying to come out and play, and the religious right is responsible. (And they know it.)
But I digress. Magnificently, in fact. I have never posted such a loopy post, and the amusing thing is that I began it before, like 12 hours prior to now, and saved it for later, when I'd be more coherent. Hah. :)
At any rate, my beloved Antisocialite, may God go with you, and may He show you His truth. And may you open your heart to it...
