It Has Come To My Attention That..
My yesterday posting re: the hellish nature of TV programming these days inspired the following comment from one of my friends:
"Sally! How on earth can you condemn TV and say 'I don't want movies to be made!' and then blithely scoot into a passionate endorsement of DVD players?"
Well, sir, I didn't mean to endorse DVD players, or any other form of technology. (Although I'm sure they'll be extolled to high heaven in a future "AntiSocialite," so keep your eyes open!)
I just meant that IF one was so inclined (to while his or her life away in a beastly blur of interlaced and pixellated images of "family members" whom they've, likely, never met) then a DVD player (or VHS) would help cut down on the ill effects of spiral programming, which is my term for "programming that sucks you in," making it almost impossible to shut down the boob tube.
Desperate times call for desperate measures. I think it's time to post a public service announcement I made for the "Trash Your TV" campaign.
Once I learn how to post things, anyway!
:)
