Video Lip-Syncers Are RIDICULOUS
(WARNING: Judgmentalism ahead!)
I don't care if people want to call me the meanest beast on the planet.
I have to say my opinion on this thing I just saw on YOUTUBE: A proliferation of scout schleppers posting grainy videos of themselves lip-syncing (very badly, I might add) to songs that should be sacred.
For example: There is a video of a girl opening and closing her mouth like a GUPPY to the song "Walk Like an Egyptian", which, while not the best song ever, should be sacred because 1- I modelled the title of my second book, "Date Like An Egyptian" around it, but more so because 2: It has the word Egyptian in it! Hmph.
For those of you interested in seeing it and hoping for a link, too bad, coz ana mesh hanafa3 el weleya el HABLA while there's a breath left in my body, so there.
Now, I'd like to point out that not all webcam concerts are loser events. For example, the "UNCLE Put The Mic Down" Coptic Remix of Golddigger was very funny. They actually REWROTE and RECORDED new lyrics. So we get the benefit of a new song.
Or my friend over at Daily Dancer, who uses songs, yes, and dances, yes, but he's actually DANCING in a good and non-idiotic manner, teaching new dance moves to the masses.
But seriously, there are THOUSANDS of ridiculous videos out there, clogging up YouTUBE. I don't know which is sadder: the loser videos, or the beasts that are amused enough to keep watching them.
This is literally another form of "reality TV"! Do teens these days have nothing more productive to do?? When I was their age, I had written two novels, an anthology of 13 plays ("Play It Again, Sall," hehe), AND I regularly skipped class to hold court at the local coffee shop to discuss politics, philosophy and religion.
This is not to say that I rock or anything, just that I was productive, and so were many of my generation.
But this current generation seems to have marawe7 3ala 2albohom, unfortunately. They don't care about piano lessons or ballet lessons or a third language or even knowing how to operate a manual camera.
Maybe it's coz I live in the South?
Someone, anyone, PLEASE leave me a comment telling me how I'm wrong and merely have the misfortune to happen across the paths of the worst examples of the new generation.
(Yes, I'm still in a bad mood from Wednesday. Sigh.)
