an ode to love online..

be sure to read my comments at the end before thinking the worst..

it hurts me not to have you in my arms
after i've read a note so sweet from you
it pains me not to see (first-hand) your charm
i swoon to read a word or three or two

you're everything to me, and i know you feel the same
i know the wall in front of you has a record of my name
we're online for right now, we're strictly on myspace
now i see you dimly, but soon i'll see your face

oh, darling, how i wish there were a way
to speed things up to see you very soon
oh, love, you always know the things to say
your beauty's greater than that of the moon

you're everything to me, and i don't deserve such things
you give me light and breath and love but i want the phone to ring
i want to hear your voice so soon, want to melt in your embrace
my Lord i wish you'd come back now, i'd give my life to see your face...

*written by the author for one "JC"...a reader has commented that this is sexualising Jesus, but i don't know.. the first time i read it, i got the notion that the author (writer?) was pulling a sally and trying to make modern poetry about God, and that this poem referred to wanting to finally see Jesus (comparing it to an online friend/relationship where you talk lots and never get to see anyone), rather than saying anything unseemly.

the way 'embrace' seems to be used is that she wants to grab Him and never let go.

the reason i posted this is because for the past week, all *I* have wanted to do was run and hide in the protective hug of JC, but that's just me.

dude, sexualizing jesus in this way is just weird. and don't tell me it's not sexual; sexual is what the lay reader is getting.
